It is the goal of Adult Education at Birmingham UMC to
support the adults in our community as they LEAD
others to a deeper relationship with Christ… to encourage
everyone to LEARN about the Bible, the church, our
community, our world, and ourselves… so that we may LIVE
the results of our growing faith.
When we LEAD
• We invite people into our community
• We make them feel welcome
• We encourage their journey with Christ
When we LEARN
• We participate in Bible Studies and Prayer Groups
• We support Women’s Ministries and Men’s Ministries
• We join a Sanctuary Group so that we join 6 to 10 others
and “do life” together
When we LIVE
• We share our faith and show the love of Christ to our
children who gather for Sunday School
• We facilitate bible studies and Sanctuary Groups
• We act as mentors in our church and in our community
• We support mission work through gifts of money and gifts
of time
• We pray for each other
• We serve as greeters and ushers on Sunday morning
• We support our church through our prayers, our presence,
our gifts, and our service
