A taste of Nashville comes to Birmingham UMC on Friday
July 4th when songwriters Kim Parent, Marcia Ramirez and James
Casto perform a 7:30pm outdoor concert in the Wolfe Cloister.

Kim Parent been called “The Singer’s Singer”- and for good reason.
She’s backed up many of today’s biggest stars. Her vocals can be
heard on CDs by Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, Reba Mc
Entire, Joe Diffie, Sherrie Austin, Jessica Andrews, Aaron Tippin,
Billy Rae Cyrus, Kenny Rogers, Don Williams, Phil Vasser, and many
other artists. Kim has been listed in Music Row Magazine’s Top Ten
Award for singing on the most country hits of 2001.
Kim is also an
experienced live performer. She currently tours with Brooks and
Dunn, but has also performed with Martina McBride, Billy Dean, Tammy
Cochran, Billy Gilman, Rodney Crowell, Lynne Anderson and Tanya
Tucker. Kim has toured nationally with The Scorpions and appeared on
numerous TV shows, including NBC’s Late Night with Craig Kilborn,
and The 2001 and 2003 Country Music Awards Broadcast.

Many people have seen Marcia Ramirez performing as a back-up
musician with artists such as Rodney Crowell and Patty Loveless.
With the release of her third solo cd "Life Goes On", Marcia is back
performing with her own band to rave reviews. Her first solo cd,
"Compromise" was critically acclaimed and Robert K. Oermann called
her "An exceptional talent with a totally cool sound. " Her second
cd "The Barefoot Sessions" which came out in 2005 was a collection
of "demos" that she released. It includes the original version of
"You Belong In The Sun" which was cut by Jo Dee Messina and released
on Jo Dee's Greatest Hits CD.
James

Casto is a founding member of Nashville’s No Hit Wonders Songwriters
Tour, which has released three CDs and played to standing room only
crowds in Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago and New York City. Casto has
released two solo CDs, Vol. 1 and Vol 2
As a songwriter, James has had cuts by platinum selling country
artist Lila McCann and gospel artist Calvin Nowell. He’s also
written music for clients like Mazda, Kroger, the Mikel Foundation,
Saddleback Church, the Georgia Special Olympics, and more.
