Fall Fellowship and Campout
October 11 & 12, 2008

Bring your neighbors and friends as we gather our Birmingham UMC community of faith under the heavenly presence of God’s creation. Relax, set aside your distractions and come fellowship together on our beautiful Sanctuary Land. Once you’ve experienced this, it will surely become a cherished annual fall tradition for you. Saturday evening is for everyone; bring your side dish and enjoy candle-lit tables in a ‘dinner on the grounds’ style. Camping is optional if you want to stay overnight through Sunday morning.

The Sanctuary Land opens at noon on the 11th with fun events for all ages throughout the afternoon.  Don’t miss the fly-over candy drop by Captain Rick Burns! Dinner this year will be a ‘dinner on the grounds’ approach starting at 6:00 pm, so be sure to bring your family’s favorite side dish.

After dinner, we’ll explore the Land, listen to storytellers, view the full moon through powerful telescopes, sing around the campfire, and of course, smores! You’ll be blessed by hearing a special worship message as well as our quiet walk together for prayer at the Sanctuary Cross. Saturday night’s quiet time begins at 10:30 pm.

Sunday morning, campers will have breakfast at 7:30 am followed by a short devotional at 8:00. Be sure to attend church services at 9:30 then return afterwards to take down your camping equipment.

The cost is $8 per person for Saturday afternoon and evening activities.  The cost for overnight campers is $10 per person.  Children age 2 and under are free. Please register below in advance to help us accurately plan for supplies. Pay your registration fees on the day of the event as you enter the back gate of the Sanctuary Land.  Kids age 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or other designated adult. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be cancelled, so make sure you include your email address when registering.
