John's passionate call to ministry is reflected in his love for people and irresistible desire to bring others to Christ. He believes that most impossible things can become ordinary for those who are willing to trust God with everything.

In June of 1993, Rev. John L. Wolfe was appointed Senior Pastor of BUMC. Before joining BUMC, he served as the senior associate pastor for Roswell United Methodist Church (RUMC) in Roswell, Georgia for 13 years. During his tenure at RUMC the church’s staff grew from 3 to 54 and membership increased by more than 200% from 1,776 to over 6,000.

Rev. Wolfe also serves as president and speaker for Methodist Hour International, a syndicated weekly radio show broadcast in the United States over 80 radio stations and into 254 foreign countries. Since 1999, Rev. Wolfe has served as Co-Director of Reconciliation Networks of Our World (RNOW). RNOW has hosted international reconciliation events in Coventry, England; Louisville, KY; Boston, MA; and Atlanta, GA.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for RRA, Resources & Residential Alternatives, an accredited, non-profit agency that provides support services for the developmentally disabled.

Before accepting his call to ministry, Rev. Wolfe served in the United States Army and worked as a Licensed Real Estate and Insurance Broker for 9 years in Pompano Beach, Florida. Rev. Wolfe received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his Masters of Divinity from Emory University’s Chandler School of Theology. He has also completed all coursework required for his doctorate.
