Judy
Colyer Wolfe is a pastoral counselor and specializes in the
field of loss and grief. She has a desire to serve the Lord by
caring for God’s people, especially those who are hurting. After
30 years in ministry, five of which were spent in youth
ministry, and ten of which were spent as a chaplain to children
with cancer at a major medical center, Judy brings a deep
understanding of what it means to disciple and equip others for
ministry. She has provided insight and leadership to the
congregation and works well alongside her husband as a clergy
couple.
In addition to her responsibilities during
worship services, Judy Wolfe serves as a pastoral counselor for
adults and children experiencing loss that comes from divorce,
death, moves, illness, and retirement. Reverend Wolfe is well
known as a grief educator throughout the region, and is
frequently a featured speaker at seminars and conferences on
issues surrounding grief and loss. For the 10 years prior to
joining BUMC, she served as Pediatric Oncology Chaplain for
Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center, where she was
responsible for grief counseling, pastoral care, and supportive
services to patients, families, and staff. From 1982 through
1988, she developed the youth program at Roswell UMC. Under her
direction, the program grew to 180 youth and 38 volunteers.
Revered Wolfe is an ordained Elder with the North Georgia
Conference of the United Methodist Church. She graduated magna
cum laude from Mercer University with a BA in Psychology and
Religion. She received her Masters of Divinity with honors from
Emory University’s Chandler School of Theology. |
