The Reverend Julie Boone, originally from
California, made her way to Atlanta via Denver Colorado in 1999.
She and her husband Ted have 2 children Eddie (14) and Nate
(12). Julie is a graduate of California State University, Long
Beach (B.A. in Comparative Literature), studied for a year at La
Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris (studying French theater) and most
recently received her Master of Divinity from Candler School of
Theology, Emory University. Julie has served as Pastor of Invite
at Johns Creek UMC and as an intern for a year at both Mt.
Carmel UMC in Norcross and the Decatur Cooperative Ministry.
Julie has worn
many career “hats.” She has worked in the retail industry, was a
French tutor, an au pair in France, a construction information
reporter and prior to attending seminary took some time off to
spend with her boys. She is an avid reader, enjoys movies, bike
riding, walking, travel and spending time with her family. She
loves to meet new people and hear how God is working in their
lives. Julie loves the Church and believes active participation
in worship, mission, study and prayer cultivate, nurture and
sustain a life of faith. It is Julie’s fervent hope and prayer
that all who walk through the doors of BUMC will experience the
peace and love of Jesus Christ.
