Below are some testimonials and pictures from the youth mission trip
to Monterrey, Mexico on June 10-18, 2005. Mexico was absolutely
amazing and a life changing event. The people in Santa Rosa and
Escobedo had nothing. Though most the
people were so
welcoming and they always had a smile on their face. The little kids
were so sweet. They would be laughing and entertained by a
paper cup. Right when we got there they came running and came up and
just hugged on you and looked into your eyes and smiled. Everyday we
would be in the center working and the kids would come and bring us
flowers and that just touched my heart because it was probably the
most valuable thing they had. When we went to the worship services
my heart was touched. These people seemed so close to God and I
think this is because they have no materials and worldly things to
get in the way of their relationship with God. Their services went
on forever, and it seemed like they just wanted it to keep going all
night. Around the community of Santa Rosa there’s a wall surrounding
it and on the other side of the wall you can see the tops of these
big cement houses. This is so sad because the government has totally
blocked out Santa Rosa. They want nothing to do with them so they
act like they're not there. They really need the help from our
church because they don’t get help from anywhere else. This trip
just made me so thankful for everything I have and it has really
changed my perspective of life. I am not so worried about what I
look like or what people think of me. I’m worried about what God
thinks of me and praising him everyday for giving me such an awesome
life.

There are really two aspects, for me, to our mission trip to
Mexico. Most importantly is the wonderful way our time was spent in
doing God's will and glorifying Him. It seems so effortless, almost
easy. There was never any distraction or walls in our way.
Maybe
the second aspect, that being the mission team both individually and
as a whole, made the mission such a success in glorifying God. I
think so and would spend another week with this whole team anytime.
Can't praise them enough.

I think this trip showed me that even seeds sowed in places where
I wouldn’t think they would grow, Gods love blossoms in all places.
I saw it in a new brother in Christ. I saw the gifts God gave my
daughter come to life and be used for his glory. And I felt his holy
presence in every step that we took in his name.
