that time again! Time for high adventure and Christian
fellowship in our annual High School fall retreat. This year we
are headed to the beautiful Ocoee River area in southeastern
Tennessee to Whitewater Express.
No other retreat
center in the south offers more activities than Whitewater
Express. From rafting Olympic whitewater on the Upper
Ocoee River to riding a horse on beautiful mountain trails to
sitting around a campfire with friends and reflecting on your
day. There truly is something for everyone. Please check

Middle School Retreat at Look Up Lodge

Youth are invited to attend our annual Fall retreat this year at
Look Up Lodge Christian Retreat.
Look Up Lodge is a
non-denominational, CCCA affiliated camp and retreat center that has
been in Christian camping for over 40 years. Look Up’s gorgeous 228
acre campus is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain
foothills just 30 minutes from Greenville and 45 minutes from
Asheville. Retreat accommodations are heated, air conditioned, and
have private baths. Look Up is more than just a great retreat

UMYF- United Methodist Youth
Fellowship
(5:00 - 7:00 pm)
UMYF meets two Sundays each month for grades 6-12.
All youth are welcome to bring friends.
Come for a
unique message, fun, games, snack supper all led by our Youth
Council. This is a great opportunity to make new friends, bring
friends and discover exciting fellowship. All students should
bring $5 for supper.
WORD WEDNESDAY
Word Wednesday provides a unique opportunity for weekly bible study
and fellowship specifically for middle/high school youth. At Word
Wednesday, students discuss relevant topics related to their
everyday lives and participate in small group environments. New
students are welcomed anytime. Snacks are provided.

Mark Jones leads the
exciting Youth Ministry (6th through 12th grade) at Birmingham
United Methodist Church. The new building brings excitement to
the youth program! Joy-packed youth worship services in the new
youth room on Sunday morning, Infusion for middle school
students at 9:30am, and The Vault for high school students at 11am.
UMYF meets one Sunday evening a month, providing a dynamic event
that students can invite their friends to!
Mark has organized faith-filled retreats, Mission projects such
as the Carolina Cross Connection, Bible Studies and just "plain-ol'-fun"
outings - all designed to impact youth for Christ. Mark always has exciting retreats for students to get involved
in!
Mr. Jones
joined the BUMC staff as Youth Director in August 2002. Before
coming to BUMC, Mark worked at Alpharetta First United Methodist
Church as a youth counselor and intern where he gained extensive
knowledge in the preparation and planning of youth events,
working with youth counselors, and ministering to youth from
ages 11 – 18.
Mark
received a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology at Kennesaw
State University, and is currently working on his Masters of
Divinity at Emory University to acquire more training for
ministry
Mark is a
native of the Alpharetta area, and he now lives in Ball Ground, with
his wife, Christy.
